What a complex question!
I was born and raised in Bryant, Arkansas. I attended Bryant High School and graduated in 2001. One short month after graduation I started dating my best friend Chris. Within the next year we were married and had our first son, Jordan.
Only being 18 when Jordan was born, I still had a lot of growing up to do. Chris and I were trying to figure out what God wanted for us and after much thought and prayer, we moved to Texas. Yes, you heard me right, we left everything we had ever know and moved 350 miles from all of our family. Why? Originally it was for school, but that didn't work out. Once we got here, we decided that North Texas was the best place for us. Our family back in Arkansas constantly asked us to move "home". Our home was in Texas and our answer to them was, we will not even consider moving back until we have a baby born in the state of Texas.
Our second son Isaac was born December 8, 2009. So now, I guess my answer to those family members would be that we won't consider leaving God's Country (Texas) until we have one child who graduates from a high school in Texas. That gives them ten years to realize that we love it here!
I have been privileged to be a stay at home Mom. My wonderful husband works hard to make it possible. It not always easy just because things are so expensive these days and I have decided that I want to help take some of Chris' stress away. I want to help contribute to our families finances, I don't want to leave my boys. I found a solution! I enrolled in a Medical Transcription course and plan to get my certificate and work from home.
Since I stay at home all day, I have a lot of time to read cook books and cook. Up until recently I just made foods that I felt comfortable with. Recipes that had been passed down by my family. I was scared to try new things. I can't really tell you when that changed, but now, I have a desire to spread my wings and get adventurous. A desire to try new thigns, new tools, and new ingredients!
My plan for this blog is to show you what happens in an every day, stay at home mom's, kitchen. I live in a small apartment and I can stand in the center of my kitchen and touch all four walls. I have just recently started buying kitchen tools and gadgets. There is still so much I need, but it is a slow process. I buy one thing at a time as a recipe calls for it. I intend to show through my blog that the size of the kitchen, the amount of equipment, and a tight budget, do not prevent you from being an outstanding cook. It may present challenges, but agood cook knows how to work with what you have.
Thank you for visiting my site. I look forward to sharing my experiences with you, whether good, bad, or ugly. If you have any recipes that you have been wanting to try but don't have the time, send them to me and I will try them out for you. Please leave comments and suggestions. If you try a recipe that I have done and have a variation I would love to know about it. I am new at this and hope that with your help I can grow in this hobby!
